We are an organic farm 30 minutes form downtown Raleigh, NC. We grow many types of vegetables, herbs, fruits and free range chicken for eggs. My uncle uses some of the pasture to raise broilers. We have three greenhouses, one we grow directly in the ground, one if for seedlings and tropical plants, one is an organic stacked pot hydroponic system.
We restored a 110 year old teacherage that has a spare bunk room and a private room. We built a barn that has living quarters on the second and third floors. The house can sleep up to 10 people if you don't mind being close, it has a fully equipped kitchen, bath room, two bedrooms, large common room, wood stove, a porch and back deck. (We provide all lines and towels.) You can see pictures of the house, and some of the trails and ponds below!
Some nights we make large meals with the whole 'Farm Family'. Some nights you may have to cook on your own. We keep the kitchen stocked with all the usual staples, and you always have access to all the great organic produce we grow on the farm, as well as fresh eggs and chicken.
We hope to plant an orchard and vineyard this year as well as increase year round production for a CSA and the 3+ farmer’s markets we go to on Saturdays.
The farm is in a rural neighborhood a few miles from Bunn, NC and not farm from Zebulon. There are grocery stores, restaurants, etc. located in both towns, with daily bus service from Zebulon to Raleigh.
There are other organic farms located within a few miles of the farm and a horse farm across the street. The farm is 250 acres about equally divided between pasture, forest and water. There are several miles of trails and really great camping spots too, with multiple ponds for swimming and fishing. Tar River Life is located 3 miles down the road, where you can kayak or tube, good swimming spots too! (Check out TarRiverLife.com for more info) We are LTGBQ friendly and open to all types of folks.
